250 Rural communities to benefit from the Nigerian Electrification Project

The Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria, (REA) has disclosed that the Federal Government through its Nigerian Electrification project (NEP) will supply electricity to rural communities across the country – courtesy of Solar
According to the agency, approximately 250 rural communities across Nigeria will benefit from the electricity supply via Solar.
It is a welcome development as the electricity through the solar channel is safe, constant and affordable for homes, businesses and religious places to use.

Altogether, 67 communities from Niger, Cross River, and Sokoto and Ogun states would benefit from the first phase of the project, while the other states would follow suit.

The NEP Scheme is funded by the World Bank to ensure rural communities across the world have access to steady electricity supply.
