Rotary Club of Ibadan-Jericho Metro in Oyo state recently completed its project of building a Solar –powered borehole in Ido Local Government. The facility was donated to improve access to portable water, reduce the incidences of water-borne disease and keep children healthy.
The president of the club,Mr Kayode Adelekun, said “the lack of access to clean water is one of the biggest health problems and one of the hardest to solve. Rotary has worked for decades to provide people with clean water by digging wells, laying pipes and providing boreholes.”
Over 2,000 pupils of Community High in the Ologuenru area of Ibadan, Oyo State, will also enjoy portable water provided by the Rotary Club of Ibadan-Jericho Metro in the state.
