The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Total Group, Patrick Pouyanne, says Nigeria’s sustainable energy solution lies in solar technology.
He identifies solar technology as “a cheap way to provide electricity”, while expressing the company’s readiness to work with Nigeria in the area of renewal energy especially solar in addressing the country’s electricity needs.
Mr. Pouyanne spoke during a courtesy call on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
In line with the Group’s solar ambition, TOTAL in Nigeria now offers a line of small solar lightening solutions, tagged “Awango by Total”.
These portable solar lamps are affordable and brighter than most commonly used lighting sources, such as kerosene lamps, candles and batteries.
Awango by Total is an incubator project for developing innovative and economically viable solutions for low –income communities with the aim to provide access to clean and sustainable energy standards.
