Facebook is currently working to develop a solar-powered drone to beam internet across the world. They are working with aeronautics giant Airbus to build and test drones in Australia.
The two firms discussed last year on test flights scheduled for November and December 2018.
They had trials with one of their drone models, Airbus Zephyr (a Model S) which uses Solar and can fly for months.
It is made of a 25-meter wingspan, that can function at up to 20km altitude while using a millimeter-wave radio to broadcast downwards.
Facebook is considering the drone as a tool to aid some of its projects, help increase internet access and hotspots worldwide, and bring connectivity to remote areas while making it more affordable.
